Ava and I headed out to Tucson on May 8 and stayed for almost two weeks! David joined us for the last 5 days. Ava had a great time being with my family. However, she was very sleep deprived and couldn't adjust to the 3 hour time change. She also had four teeth cutting through. She would wake up at 6am everyday (big no no in my book), at which point I would start calling for Ah Ma or Michelle, as I laid in bed, to come get Ava. Then I could get some real sleep! Ah Ma would take Ava to the garden to water the flowers and go on a walk around the lake. Ava would be whisked upstairs by 10am for her nap, when her cries of "NO" to anything and everything were getting too loud. She may have said "No" a hundred times a day while we were there. Even though she was grumpier than usual, she was still the life of the party. It was already scorchingly hot in Tucson, so we spent pretty much all day indoors. Lorina and I watched tons of chick flicks and I literally ate all day long. Yay for getting closer to fitting in my mom jeans!
Sweet Ava
Wish I could put Ava on that turtle for a ride

The ladies of the family. What is it with my head tilt in all the pictures with Ava?
Ava calls Victor "Boy" . That's Coco the dog. I'm not crazy about that dog. Ava had a love-hate relationship with him. Everytime he would bark, she would cry hysterically. But I caught her giving him kisses. The horror!

She's got high heels and an apron on to wipe the table. What is this, the 1950s?
Ava loved staring at herself in the mirror all day. I would too with a smile like that!

The Sonoran Desert Museum. Ava stayed home with Ah Ma while the rest of us got to see some bobcats, snakes, javalinas and other delightful critters. I was sporting that hat everyday in Tucson. My style goes out the window on vacations, or maybe just everyday of my life.
